Our story
Hooked N Free started with a simple idea: build something together as a family, around the things we love.
Fishing. Family. Freedom.
Based in Queensland, we’re creating a fishing lifestyle brand for men, women and kids—something the whole crew can be part of. Fishing, boating and time outdoors are at the heart of it, but so is the experience of turning a shared idea into something of our own.
Our first collection brings together bold reef artwork, ocean colours and our Hooked N Free identity across fishing shirts and headwear. We’re still at the beginning, developing the range and learning as we go, with plenty of ideas for what comes next.
We want our kids to be part of that journey: watching an idea take shape, contributing along the way and sharing the pride in what we create together.

The crew behind the brand
Meet the family
We’re Adam and Sophie, the family behind Hooked N Free. Our crew is a blended one: two kids from before we met, plus our youngest, who brought us all together.
Five years ago, we moved to Queensland to be closer to Adam’s son. Being together as a family was the reason for the move, and it opened up a whole new chapter of exploring places we’d never been.
Queensland is still full of new territory for us—different coastlines, unfamiliar waterways and sights we haven’t seen before. We love the freedom of getting out there, discovering somewhere new and sharing those experiences with other people.
And then there’s the fishing. We love the anticipation of a line in the water, the excitement when a fish takes it and the thrill of finding out what’s on the other end. It gives us plenty to get excited about together, with a few stories to bring home.
Most importantly, though, it’s our time as a family. Being out on the boat or exploring a new place gives us time together, away from the everyday routine. Those shared experiences are what we value most.
Hooked N Free grew from wanting to build something together that reflects that part of our lives. We’re bringing our love of fishing, exploring and freedom into a family brand, with the kids alongside us as we learn and watch it take shape.
We’re still discovering our new backyard, and we’re looking forward to sharing the journey.
